What do Mother’s Day, a Clarinet,
and Spaghetti have in common?
May 9 is Mother’s Day! If you’d like a gift idea, consider giving that special mother some tickets to the big May 16 Music Fundraiser Spaghetti Lunch and Recital. Tickets are $7. for adults, $5. for children under twelve, or $20. for families of four or more. They will be available at the church, beginning April 18, or can be called in to (517) 485-9477 for will-call availability. The ticket buys you a complete spaghetti lunch (11:15 and 12:15 seatings), including salad, breadsticks, beverage, and dessert. In addition, it includes admission to a recital that will be held at 1:00 p.m. on the 16th in Central UMC’s sanctuary, featuring renowned clarinetist Dr. David Pino of Texas State University.
Even if you’re all set with Mother’s Day gift ideas, call for tickets anyway and come to Central for the spaghetti lunch and recital on May 16th or just come for the free recital! Dr. Pino will combine with Central's Director of Music Ministries and Worship Arts Caryn Welter in playing Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Six Studies in English Folksong, Robert Schumann’s Fantasy-Pieces for Clarinet and Piano, Srul Irving Glick’s Suite Hebraique for Clarinet and Piano, a light-hearted little piece called “Paris Then” by Ned Rorem, and Carl Maria von Weber’s Concertino. For music-lovers, this is a must-see / must-hear! Mark your calendars and call today, as tickets go fast. Again, the number to call is (517) 485-9477.
